Japanese Girl and Boy

These both are also called "Furusato" Monchhichis. Furusato means "hometown" in japanese. There exists an old japanese song called "Furusato". The words of the song say:"...when we are child, we ran after rabbits on the mountain, we did fishing in the river...". Therefore the boy is going fishing and the girl is holding a rabbit.

The clothes that the both wear are equiped with "Kasuri" pattern. The kimonos of the girl and the boy are the kimonos of their ancestors.

Here you can see our couple at Night of Zen

I am always happy to get the information about the background of Monchhichis which wear special clothes like this girl and boy. As I am from Germany I donīt know very much of the japanese culture, but I am very interested in.

Therefore I want to thank Chikako and Sekiguchi for their informations they had given to me about this couple.
